Missions Team | Interest Form

We believe God has called us to give ourselves fully to His mission in our city and around the world. Saying yes to this call, the Stirring is strategically investing in mission movements around the world and in our own nation. Much more than short-term mission trips once a year, we are raising up disciples and communities to play an ongoing part in the ways God is moving in our city and in these countries.

For those who wish to participate in one of our short term trips please complete the form below. As opportunities open up we will reach out to you!

Team Member Requirements:

Must be in good physical health.  You must be able to carry your own luggage and walk at least 2 miles a day.  On foreign trips we also may not be able to accommodate food allergies and/or preferences.  Please be prepared to be ultra flexible!

Team members must be emotionally healthy. Some of our trips are to high stress environments.  If you are healing from trauma events or recovering from suicidal ideation please share this with the team leader and discuss honestly if this is a wise trip for you to participate in.

Team members must be able to follow the leader with confidence and trust. If you doubt your ability to follow the team leader please reconsider your participation.

Team members must pass a background check.

Team members must uphold a lifestyle that is congruent with the standards for a Stirring staff member. (for example: social media presence, drug and alcohol use, and sexual integrity.)

Team unity is a priority for all Stirring teams. If you are unable to stay in unity with team members then it may not be the right team for you.

Goals of every Stirring Team Member:

This trip is a pilgrimage first. You are participating because God has something very special for you personally to discover. Pay close attention to Him at all times. Each day could be rich with the presence of the Lord. Be open to His voice and submit to Him every minute of this experience.

You are a minister of the gospel of Jesus. Our teams engage in ministry everywhere we go however we can.  We clean toilets, clean up trash,  talk about Jesus, pray, and preach at every opportunity.  Be ready to be a minister.

You will be a student. You will learn. Your trip will be very educational. You will learn from others, from culture, from other countries and people. Travel as a student and learn.  Soak up as much growth as possible. Always stay curious.  Avoid judgment of others and don’t assume you know better than those you meet.

Respect the opportunity to travel and represent Jesus and the Stirring. This is a wonderful opportunity but we expect you to represent well.

Be prepared. Here are some things that you should be aware of prior to signing up to go on a Stirring trip:

We work hard and are on the  move a lot.  You will be expected to keep up with the team leader in ministry, travel, and engagement with people.

Pack light.

Be kind and respectful of missionaries and pastors we encounter regardless of what you think of them.  They don’t need your approval or disapproval.  They don’t need your criticism or judgment.

Be respectful of the culture you are serving. Don’t complain about food or cultural differences, don’t ever mock or shame the culture we are serving.

Our goal will be to support, strengthen, and encourage the full time - long term workers over and above our own comfort.  We go to serve not to be served.

The challenge of every Stirring team is to be the ā€œbest teamā€ that has ever represented the Stirring. Plan on being amazing!

Finally, we want you to know that we respect the risk you are taking to ask to participate.  We will respond to you as quickly as we can.  Many teams are limited in size so we will do our best to accommodate however, we cannot guarantee participation.

Thank you for applying!
